Trivia
[edit]I removed the trivia regarding the West Wing and the California 47th becuase the 47th that the West Wing refers to is now the 48th. Loretta Sanchez does not represent the staunchy conservative Newport Beach district she represents Garden Grove, Santa Ana and Anaheim.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.194.82.128 (talk • contribs) .
Removed "Moderate and conservative positions" section
[edit]The "Moderate and conservative positions" section was horribly inconsistent with her voting record and her perception by voters and public interest group ratings. The section read as:
- "Sanchez is a moderate politician, conservative on some issues including fiscal issues. She has supported a Constitutional amendment to outlaw flag desecration and encouraged states to prosecute violent juvenile offenders as adults.[1] She is a Blue Dog Democrat as well as a member of the New Democrat Coalition."
The two issues mentioned in this section are not the exclusive issues of moderates or conservatives but are in fact supported or opposed by politicians across the political spectrum. Sanchez is an unabashed liberal whose voting record easily demonstrates this fact. Both conservative and liberal groups identify her as such despite any attempt to modify her image by being a member of the Blue Dog Democrat's. Residence of Loretta Sanchez
[edit]Some sources say she lives in Anaheim, others say she lives in Santa Ana, others say Loretta Sanchez lives in Garden Grove. Does anyone know where she lives? 173.67.106.134 (talk) 17:23, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
Spelling of Sanchez
[edit]This article consistently uses the accent mark on the letter a in Sanchez as it is written in Spanish. However, neither Rep. Sanchez official House of Reps website nor her official Senate campaign website uses the accent mark and I have never seen it used elsewhere.
Rather, little sister Rep. Linda Sanchez does use the accent mark in her official capacity. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.214.8.150 (talk) 15:29, 3 November 2016 (UTC)
- I noticed this also, particularly since it contradicted the page title (by contrast, Linda's page title does correctly use the accent). This distinction has been mentioned in the NY Times, among other places. I have corrected all uses on this page, using Find and Replace and then manually fixed any mentions of Linda Sánchez. If I erroneously changed any other Sánchez to remove the accent, I hope someone will notice and correct it, but I thought the priority for the moment was to spell the article subject's name as correctly and consistently as possible. --EightYearBreak (talk) 20:31, 4 December 2018 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of he said/she said paragraph
[edit]This paragraph found at the end of the section on the Congressional Hispanic Caucus:
- According to Sanchez, as well as Linda Sánchez (her sister), and Hilda Solis, Baca called Loretta Sanchez "a whore" while speaking to other lawmakers.[8][12] Baca denied the charge. Politico reported that Sanchez claimed California Assembly Speaker Fabian Núñez heard the comment from Baca and repeated it to Sanchez, yet Núñez claimed not to recall any such comment.[13] Sanchez, however, claimed after the article was published that she had never mentioned Núñez to Politico.[14]
This exchange of she said/he said/and then she said, is not worthy material for any encyclopedia. It's along the lines of rumor and gossip rather than factual information about the subject of the article. It should be deleted. Ileanadu (talk) 13:40, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
